College of Physiotherapists of Ontario

The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) is the governing body for physiotherapists in Ontario. The Office of the Fairness Commissioner (OFC) oversees the registration practices of the college to ensure that they are transparent, objective, impartial and fair for anyone who wants to practise as a physiotherapist in this province.

In a July 2009 guide to help regulators conduct reviews of their entry-to-practice requirements, the OFC drew attention to certain promising practices of the CPO:

Bridging Program: The Ryerson Bridging Program for internationally educated physiotherapists was launched in January 2009.
