The College of Kinesiologists of Ontario (CKO) will be the governing body for kinesiologists in Ontario.
The CKO was established by the Kinesiology Act in 2007, and is represented by its transitional council. The CKO will regulate the profession of kinesiologist in the public interest by ensuring that individuals have access to health services provided by competent health professionals. The Office of the Fairness Commissioner (OFC) will work closely with the transitional council.
The College of Kinesiologists of Ontario falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
The OFC will oversee the registration practices of the CKO to ensure that they are transparent, objective, impartial and fair for anyone who wants to practise as a kinesiologist in this province.
The OFC does not assess credentials, handle complaints or intervene in particular cases. Our mandate is one of systemic change. Please contact Brenda Kritzer, Registrar, Transitional Council of the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario, 163 Queen Street East, 4th Floor, Toronto, ON M5A 1S1, for further information about your ability to practise as a kinesiologist in Ontario.
