The Office of the Fairness Commissioner is launching a survey of people who have applied to regulated professions in Ontario. It is gathering first-hand information—applicants’ experiences—about getting a license as a professional.
The office makes sure there is a level playing field for everyone who applies to a profession. It has done research about regulatory bodies and assessment agencies. Now it is seeking the views of applicants themselves.
This is the first time a study of this type has been done in Canada.
“The study will provide solid research about a topic where existing information is often anecdotal,” said Hon. Jean Augustine, PC, Fairness Commissioner. “Whether you are applying for a licence or already have it, I would like to hear from you.”
“The Ontario College of Pharmacists is committed to fair and transparent registration processes for our applicants, and this survey could help to inform the registration processes for pharmacy and other professions,” said Deanna Williams, Registrar of the Ontario College of Pharmacists
